Year End Giving

#GivingisIMPACTFUL – Support Our Community on Giving Tuesday, December 3

We are deeply grateful for our donors, who enable us to serve out our mission: building healthy, vibrant communities in Memorial Hospital’s service area now and for generations to come. Those gifts have allowed us to make a tangible difference in our community and in our hospitals. Here is an overview of the impact donor contributions have facilitated in 2024:

  • Educational Support: We have continued funding grants across 18 schools and seven districts in St. Clair County, positively impacting over 7,200 children. These grants focus on imparting social and emotional learning skills, promoting self-regulation and fostering conflict resolution in children, which are crucial for addressing mental and behavioral challenges. This also contributes to improved staff retention within our educational institutions.
  • Survivor Empowerment: We are supporting Metro East Every Survivor Counts with essential funding to combat domestic and sexual violence and support the survivors of these violent crimes. This initiative empowers survivors through personalized services and community education efforts.
  • Suicide-Loss Support Services: In collaboration with Heartlinks and the St. Clair County Mental Health Department, we have introduced comprehensive support services for individuals and families affected by suicide. These services include trauma counseling, individual and family therapy, grief support groups and community workshops. Additionally, Heartlinks provides suicide prevention training for first responders, hospital staff and other local organizations.
  • Indigent Care Fund: Memorial Hospital provided over $27 million last year in charity care and financial assistance to patients in need, ensuring access to essential health care services for all.
  • Support for Youth Programs: We have partnered with Belleville Township High School District #201 to provide free, on-site school physicals for 500 elementary and high school students at the newly opened BTHS 201 Health and Wellness Clinic in Belleville.
  • Parental Support Initiatives: We are providing parents with car seats to ensure safe transportation home for their newborns, along with supporting a safe sleeping environment through the distribution of essential items like Pack ‘n Plays, and sleep sacks.

Memorial Foundation will continue to prioritize support for the hospital, its staff and patients, while addressing emergent community health needs by supporting mental health initiatives. We invite you to join us in supporting the needs of our community with a generous contribution, especially on Dec. 3, as part of our #GivingisIMPACTFUL campaign. Together, we can significantly enhance the quality of life for those in our community!

We are excited about the potential effect of this campaign and look forward to seeing the positive change we can generate together within just 24 hours! We encourage you to share this initiative on your social media platforms, via text and through email to maximize outreach.

Again, thank you for your continued support and I wish you a joyful and healthy holiday season!

Sincerely,

Liz Jennings
