65th Annual Book Bazaar

Auxiliary Executive Board member Adele Theobald and her husband Gary Theobald help arrange this event each year and said the Memorial Hospital Book Bazaar is a benefit to everyone.

                “The community can recycle their books, music, and puzzles that they have enjoyed while stocking up for the current year,” Gary said. “Children can come in and pick out their own books or sit under a table and read while their parents pick out books. Book dealers can also check our inventory for volumes they need as we have a lot of rare finds.”

                The Theobalds said volunteers enjoy working throughout the year by pricing, sorting, and storing the inventory for the sale. They begin collecting supplies for the annual sale beginning in July of the previous year. Books are collected in the Memorial warehouse in Belleville every Tuesday through December 12, 2023. Donations are also being accepted on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of the month, ending December 2, 2023. Beginning January 9, you can drop off books at the warehouse on Tuesdays and Thursdays and on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays. All book drop off times are 8am to 11am. The final day for drop off is Saturday, March 16.  

                “This is the Auxiliary’s biggest fundraiser of the year,” Adele said. “Everyone works very hard to make it a success.”
