Healing Arts Program at Memorial Hospital Shiloh

Healing Arts Program at Memorial Hospital Shiloh

Providing excellent care means more than just treating physical symptoms.

Integrating artwork into the healthcare environment can assist with the emotional needs of patients and families as well as have a positive impact on the healing process.

Commissioned Art Pieces

Six pieces of artwork have been commissioned from local artists as well as artists who have participated in Art on the Square. The pieces will be located in the Main Lobby, second floor, Family Care Birthing Center waiting room, and the elevator lobbies on the fourth and fifth floors.

Memorial Group, Inc. designated $50,000 to purchase these commissioned pieces and launch the Healing Arts Program.

Three-Phase Program

The artwork currently outlined below encompasses Phase 1 of a three-phase program at Memorial Hospital Shiloh. Phase 2 will include corridor artwork on the nursing units, and Phase 3 will provide artwork in the patient rooms.

This catalog features the offers currently available for funding at Memorial Hospital Shiloh.  A similar catalog is available for funding opportunities at Memorial Hospital Belleville.

How Our Healing Arts Program Works

Donors may choose to purchase the artwork in honor of a loved one or simply for the satisfaction of knowing how a beautiful piece of artwork can have such a positive impact on someone’s health and healing.

  • Donation amount is based on visibility and size of the piece.
  • Based on research, donors will choose from these pre-selected pieces recommended by BJC Design and Construction and Arch Framing and approved by Memorial leadership.
  • Location of the artwork has been pre-selected by BJC Design and Construction in consultation with Memorial leadership.
  • Donors will be recognized with a small plaque appropriately located near the piece of art.
  • Donation also will apply toward the donor’s cumulative giving total and recognized appropriately on the Excellence for Life donor wall.
